Recently finished this work in commission for a dedicated watch collector. This painting depicts the legendary Speedmaster, an icon within the world of enthusiasts.

In this still life, the watch appears as a beloved everyday object, but for those privy to its secrets - and especially the owner - subtle references unfold that represent the personal connection to this object.

As in classical still life paintings, the collector's items (both the watch and the painting) become an object of desire. By depicting it as 'ordinary' and with extreme precision, it simultaneaously shows use and attraction -  a brilliance that the inner magpie immediately recognises.
